Trips For Kids 11th Annual Brews Bikes And Bucks Party

This popular event offers local beer, great raffle prizes, delicious meals, and the chance for famous mountain bike pioneers to meet up. All proceeds go to Trips for Kids Marin-based non profit that improves the lives of children with disabilities through trail rides and earn a bike programs for over 20 years.

This annual fundraiser is now in its eleventh year. It has become a highly-anticipated tradition. Some of the mountain biking legends expected to be there include Gary Fisher and Tom Ritchey as well as Ned Overend, Scott Nicol and Jacquie Phhelan. Otis Guy, Ross Shafer. Charles Kelly, Mert Willis, Chris Lang, and Ross Shafer are all possible attendees.

Many people take the joy of riding a bike in Marin parks and other wild areas as a given. Marilyn Price, founder of Trips for Kids, said that this simple experience isn’t possible for everyone. We have always tried to make that a little easier. The fundraiser helps us all!

Throughout the afternoon, raffles will take place for bike-related prizes. Jamis Bicycles will donate a Jamis Dakar XCR Sport dual suspension mountain bike as the grand prize. Other items will be available for silent auction, including a 2009 Marin Bikes 29er mountain bike. The event will also offer raffle tickets. To win, ticket holders do not need to be present. Trips for Kids will receive all event proceeds.

Trips for Kids (www.tripsforkids.org) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization based in Marin County, California. Trips for Kids has 60+ chapters in the United States, Canada, and Israel. They offer mountain bike rides and Earn-A-Bike program to help at-risk youth. Trips for Children was founded by Marilyn Price, a mountain biker and environmentalist who is also a Mountain Bike Hall of Fame Inductee. It was started as a grassroots effort to give inner-city youth an opportunity to get out and enjoy the outdoors while learning valuable life skills.
